Fuzion
Ubud · Tasted October 2024
“A lovely rice-field setting and a good, if busy, Margherita.”

We found Fuzion while we were in Ubud for the Writers & Readers Festival. It's a cute little two-storey place overlooking a rice field, and an adorable spot to eat.
The pizza is good. It isn't quite as pretty as I expected after watching them make it, but there's a good amount of cheese, a sprinkling of parmesan and lots of basil. The crust doesn't puff up much around the edge, but it tastes nice and is crispy and chewy.
The sauce is rich, and there's a little too much of it, with too much going on in it as well; the herbs crowd out the tomato. There's also coarse semolina on the bottom, which I don't love.
Good, not great, in a lovely setting.
