Rustica Cucina Italiana sits right at the start of Batu Belig, and their pizza does things its own way. This is not a Napoli-style pizza at all: the crust is super thin and super crispy. We went with the Margherita and couldn't resist adding burrata on top.
Style aside, the flavours are genuinely good. The sauce is tasty, the cheese is good quality, and there's a proper amount of both, so no bite feels bare. The burrata is a lovely indulgence if you're in the mood. Everything on top of this pizza works.
The crust is the one sticking point, and it's purely personal preference. If you love a cracker-thin, crispy base, Rustica nails it. I'll always reach for the puff and chew of a Napoli base first, so it's not quite my pizza — but it's a very well made one.
A really nice pizza from a kitchen that clearly knows what it's doing — just know which style you're signing up for.
