Pizza Tjahaja

“Fun toppings at a great price, but not the Italian pizza we hoped for.”
We'd been meaning to try Pizza Tjahaja in Denpasar for a while, and we ordered three: Back to Basics (their Margherita), the Three Blind Mice (a truffle-and-cheese pizza) and the Crazy Chicken, topped with sliced chicken sausage and little cubes of barbecue chicken. Each one arrives with a little basket of chilli oil and chilli sauce sitting right on top, which is a cute touch.
The prices are great: about 40k for the Margherita and 55k for the others.
The pizza itself is less convincing. The Margherita looks pretty but light on cheese, and the crust hasn't risen much. It's not very crispy, a bit doughy and floppy, and the crusts are inconsistent; the one on the Crazy Chicken was fat and doughy. The flavour is alright, but I wanted more sauce and more cheese.
It's not bad, and for what you pay it's pretty good. We'd hoped for a proper Italian-style pizza, though, and didn't quite get one.
